What Counseling Is Not:

  • Help only for people with major problems
  • A crutch for people who are weak

What Counseling Is:

  • Life coaching that helps you gain new insights into your behaviors, emotions and relationships
  • Learning new ways of expressing  your feelings, identifying  patterns of thinking and behavior
  • Overcoming feelings of anxiety, depression and anger
  • Helping you develop healthier communication skills*Working through grief that heals and releases pain and loss

What can you do to prepare for counseling?

Think about what you would like to get out of your counseling by considering goals that you have for yourself or your relationships. Try to answer the question, “I will feel that counseling will be effective if I accomplish   _______________.”
